Through the Deepest Door | ADAPTIVE RE-USE LIBRARY

Conserving existing Architecture is essential for cultural continuity, especially in diverse and growing areas that are facing the effects of gentrification. This adaptive re-use Library project in the heart of Montreal’s Sud-Ouest ,Pointe-Sainte-Charles (P.S.C), responds to the evolving urban fabric and extreme climatic conditions in Montreal. It uses “deep doors” and other domestic architectural elements that  “bridge” the exisiting library with the added extension, serveing  as an extension of one’s home.
